Remembering my Dad’s birthday
On the journey to a new normal, I came across a Facebook post of the words Ann Huddle left to her family recently and was reminded of my Daddy’s words to me as we stood by the bedside of my dying mother, “I… don’t want you girls to cry like this for me . . .”
It seems that any minute he will walk back up the steps where we last said, “Bye Daddy! I love you.  Please be careful . . . I love you too. See you Thursday!”
All our tomorrows will start without his physical presence and with words left unsaid, but He will forever be in our hearts!  And if he sees the tears we cry today, he will see them from Heaven’s perspective.
“If Tomorrow Starts Without Me”
If tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see,   If the sun should rise you find your eyes all filled with tears for me;   I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today,   While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say . . . (Ann Huddle to her family)
